About Mr. Kleiman: Most recently, Mr. Kleiman was Senior Vice President and Chief Scientist at NetApp®, Inc., responsible for setting future technology directions for the company. He has been involved with the design and development of UNIX and workstation architectures since 1977; first at Bell Labs, where he helped to develop the first x86 based UNIX product, and then at Sun Microsystems. While at Sun, Mr. Kleiman developed the Vnodes file system interface, and was a member of the original NFS development team. Mr. Kleiman received an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University in 1978 and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from M.I.T in 1977. He is the author or co-author of 17 conference and journal papers, holds 66 patents, and has published one book.
